removing fuel lines that go to back of manifold
removing fuel lines that go to back of manifold
looks like 2 fuel lines that go to the back of the drivers side of the intake manifold. How do they come off. I dont wanna go just pulling on them
You can't just yank them off. Go down to Napa and get a fuel line disconnect tool set. It was only $7 or $8 for the generic plastic ones. It's pretty much just a plastic washer that can be slipped into the fuel line connections and "unlocks" the connection. What I'm saying will probably make a lot more sense when your looking at the tool.
Hey I had the same problem... I pushed the fuel disconect tool in and the thing was not coming off.... Later I discover its very easy... push the tool in and then gently pull the end with increasing pull.... gently.. and it just clicks and comes off.
Once I did the first one the second one came off in less than 1 second...
Just like when you pop a cherry...errr never mind
Remember you need to push the tool in else its not gunna relase that little spring it has inside the quick disconect.

I feel your pain brotha. one of my Water pump hoses is about to pop and today I was gunna fix it when I realised it has some metal cramped around it (not a clamp) that needs to be cut off with a dremmel first. I dont have a freaggin dremmel and I dont have a garage either... ALL work done parked on the street and it sucks. I hate to have people see me working on her every week
or the freaggin pavement gets soo hot.. I metered at 150* farenheight one day... (with an infrared Thermometer) but its all good though.. Cant complaint. I love my car.
Try again bro... push the tool in and make sure it clicks into the Quick Disconect part... It must go in deep enough to relieve the spring inside the conetion.. then with one hand hold one side of the hose and pull the other hose with just a little wiggle motion... till it clicks apart... I think your are not pushing the tool deep enough or you are not pulling hard enough..
Once you get the first one off you will laugh at the second one...

The first time I took them off, they came off fairly easy. This past time I actually had to pull on the lines pretty hard after I had the disconnect tool in place. Just keep trying, they will come....
