Removing the Fuel Injectors??

Alright..I took half the crap out of my engine including the fans, and the entire wiring harness is all unplugged and moved out of the way. I did this mainly to have a comfortable working area around the Fuel Rails to get the Fuel Injectors out...
When I pulled the Fuel Rail up..it was funny cause the rubber washers (that go on the tip of the injectors) around injectors for cylinder 6 and 8 were missing! One was inside the injector hole in the intake manifold..and the other was missing!!! I thought it fell into the intake!! I literally started crapping my pants thinking now I gotta remove the ENTIRE intake and stuff just to pull this washer out of the engine! But..thankfully I checked around the intake and noticed it fell down to the exhaust area..whew!! As for the one in 8..the washer was sorta stuck inside the hole..so I rigged a wire that I made a 'hook' out of..and carefully pulled her out. Let me tell you..the relief I had knowing I wasnt gonna have to pull the intake off was so great
Anyways!!! Now..how do I undo those injector 'clips'? I tried prying a mini-screwdriver in there..no luck..I tried using needle nose pliers to pry them off..they wont come off! Am I missing something? those clips dont seem like they should be this hard to get off..Its a Saturday night, I have no money so I'm playin with the Z which will be down for a while anyways...I am trying to clean them since the car will be down and out for a few weeks..and whats the best thing to clean the tips of them off with anyways..can I use a carb cleaner? What about a 'brake and parts' cleaner?
Thanks guys in advance (those who are at home on a Saturday lol).

I'm just hanging out watching the Red Sox game (in Seattle=late start for us east coast guys) so I'll try to help.

Which "clips" are you referring to? I'm assuming the slide locks at the top of the injector? Take a small screwdriver and slide the little tab over. Once you do that, you can pull the injector out of the fuel rail. You can use brake or carb cleaner if you want, but it's the inside of the injector that can really use the cleaning. And you can't do that with a can of carb cleaner...

The clips slide along the fuel rail. Tug on the injector away from the fuel rail to make sure the clip clears its little divot, put the whole assembly on your lap and push with both thumbs on the sides of the clip. They only slide off in 1 direction.
