Removing EGR and AIR

I'm going to be removing my EGR and AIR stuff this weekend.

I have hte EGR blockoff plate pn #10054880 (hope thats right)

and then I can jsut take it all out and chuck it right? theres nothing else I have to block off?

and for the AIR.. I'm not even really sure where it is, and dont know what it does.
so how can I remove it?

MY PCM has had AIR and EGR and rear o2 programed out already, and the headers only have bungs for the front O2's

I have heard of two uses for the air system.

One would be to help heat up the o2 sensors on startup.
The other being to help the cat burn off unused gas when cold.

All it does is push clean air from the intake into the exhaust. Obviously this can only work in open loop, otherwise it would throw off the o2 readings. If you look under your car on the driver's side there's a little black plastic cylinder sitting there. There's a tube that runs from your intake to it, and it's also the two big metal things sticking into the top of your exhaust manifolds.

Why are you removing things that you don't know where they are and what they do?

Hooker LT install.

I used to know, but it seems to have slipped my mind as of late.
