Removing catalytic converter

If you just run a straight pipe instead of a cat, does the smell of the exhaust become richer?

i have no cat to flowmaster 80 series, and it is damn loud, soon to put long tube headers on their to really make it roar

but yea smell is richer but you gain horse, and plenty o noise
