I have a 1996 Z28 with an A4 and was wondering if I could just directly swap my other lower milage 94 LT1 into the 96 Z28? I would how ever swap the opti sparks though. Will it be a direct swap? BTW this would still be using the OBD2. I am wanting to just mod the 94 motor so I can still drive the 96 and then when its done just swap them. I will be doing a MadZ28 OBD1 converstion with the custom programming. Pacesetter LTs, Llyod Elliot LE2 heads with LE1 cam, 52MM throttle body, no EGR, no AIR, LE ported intake, Arizona Speed and Marine intake, etc. Thanks, PLMK

 

You'll need to swap knock sensors as well... they are different. The 94 has a 3.9k ohm sensor and the 96 has a 100k ohm sensor.

I think you'll need to stick your 96 crank position sensor on the 94 to prevent your SES light from coming on.

Might be some other stuff but can't think of anyting off the top of my head right now that would give you problems
