I have herd mixed opinions of this matter, but i want to know if removing the catalytic converter will have a negative effect of my trans am performace.

Theres no emmision in my town, and i dont mind it being louder.

Go ahead and get rid of it, If the extra noise and emissions are not a prob. than it's worth it. It's only a bit louder and it gives a few extra hp.

 

mine is removed and it adds power and great sound. i had mine removed but the casing put back on empty tack welded on. I also had my muffler removed and a bent y pipe added instead. It is not REAL loud but sounds like "God given power" when it gets wound up! I get lots of compliments on the sound. Too bad its not as fast as it sounds. lol. Anybody know how to do a sound clip?

 

I also don't have a cat but I do have a Muffler (else the cops would be stopping me all the time) I see the police pulling up behind me wondering why is he so loud... then they see my big stainless steel muffler and drive away (never been stopped for that) they take off after souped up civics instead lol

no but seriously that is the #1 consern... the noise lol

It is loud! very loud! if you do street racing you'll be heard from about 5 blocks away! so take it easy in town lol

appart from that I love the sound and I heard you do get some extra HP out of it!
