Removing balancer on an automatic car?

HTF do I do this? Working on the GF's 93, it's an auto, every LT1 or LS1 car I have ever owned has been a stick and I just pop it in first and the motor won't turn over. What do I do? Thanks guys!

Mine's a 93 A4. I just popped the belt off, use the puller and it popped right off. I may be mistaken but I believe the crank has a mark along with the balancer. Left the tranny in park.

What I did on my '94: first, somehow mark the balancer and balancer hub so you can put it back on in the right spot(I used some white model paint), second, disconnect the bolts(you will have to stick a screwdriver into the teeth on the flywheel so the crankshaft won't rotate while you try to loosen the bolts...I just braced the screwdriver in between the teeth and found a spot on the frame so it wouldn't move), third, after you remove the bolts, you will need a pully/gear puller...I got mine from AdvanceAuto Parts...it should come off pretty easily...good luck.
