Removed tunnel brace/Tightened up loose header bolts
I pulled the tunnel brace today. I couldn't stand it any longer, the banging of my I pipe on the brace. Basically the pipe was resting on it and would make this nasty vibrating and banging sound, especially under good acceleration. Not to mention, I think all of this is what has kept my passenger side header bolts constantly being loosened up.
It was a b!tch getting the rearmost passenger side header bolts tightened up on these slp shorties. I finally realized the best way to get at them was to remove the valve cover.
I'm quite sure it's time to replace the motor mounts because the tunnel brace was shimmed with about 3-4 spacers under both bolts for the passenger side. When the spacers were installed months ago, it provided a couple centimeters of space from the I pipe, but looking at it today, the pipe just sagged onto the brace.
