There are plenty of f-body's that exceed 255mph.
There is a 92 Firebird that hits 307mph every now and then.

Re: Remove Speed Limiter?

My '94 six speed LT1 has the ~110 speed limiter and the 110mph speedometer that the 6 cyl. camaros have. I checked the VIN and all other codes and confirmed its an original LT1. Is this odd? I thought LT1's had the 155mph speedometer and ~155 speed limiter. The only thing I can think of is that is was built in Canada. Any thoughts?

Is your car a vert? I know LT1 vert's that didn't have the Z rated tires factory (i think that was the option?) have 110 speedometer/limiter.. I have seen one, it was a 94 black M6 vert.

Only 95's have 'OBDI with OBDII connector'.. 94 is OBDI with OBDI connector..and 96-7 are OBDII..[with OBDII connector]

i know a few people with OBD 2 connectors on a 94...

Re: Remove Speed Limiter?

The only 94 which got a FACTORY OBDII connector were the Corvettes. No 94 F-bodies had an OBDII connector.

It's not too hard to change the connector.

My 86 Trans Am has an OBDII connector in it.

I beleive those are the non z-rated tires. I've seen a 93 Z and a 94 like yours with the 110 speedo as well. Both came standard with non-Z-rated tires.
I think the 93 had yellow numbers too. can't remember the 94 though.

Re: Remove Speed Limiter?

My 94 has a 110 speedo. i dont remember if it had Z rated tires or not on it. If i put a 155 speedo in it does that need to be programmed (or changed) in the comp too? cause my girlfriend's neon has a speedo that goes higher than mine and its stock. Thats embarassing...

Re: Remove Speed Limiter?

No changes necessary when upgrading to a 150 speedo. If you currently have a speed limiter then you might want to have that programmed out, but you will be ok other than that.

I can vouch for that.
My 94 Formula LT1 had the 115 speedo 108 speed limiter. Swaping clusters is no big deal. Plug and play.

Re: Remove Speed Limiter?

I have a 94T/A coupe with T-Tops that has a 110mph speedo. I been having a hard time looking for a cluster. Do you guys know anyone or anyplace that I can pick one up for cheap...
