relays.... can i test
evap purge
so thanks guys got the relay thing figured out still dont have a clue on that particular vacumm tee and where it goes. i guess im just gonna cap it off till futher evaluation or insight..i wanna say the tee is for a secondary valve injection/induction. thats what ive been reading on different forums. now i am going to replace my evap purge its locater on the pass. side. if i follow one of the lines it goes around to the driver side and there looks to be an empty bracket where it apperars the previous owner deleted something and added a coulping to the line to bypass i guess. maybe its suppose to look like that but the bracket( what it appears to be) is missing something? i dont really know
Re: relays.... can i test
The 3rd Gens used a catalytic converter with an AIR connection in the middle of the converter. There were two beds of catalyst, and the second bed required secondary air to oxidize HC and CO. So they had a diverter valve that would allow air to flow to either the exhaust manifold, or the cat (after the engine warmed up). The 4th Gens don't need that, because they use a monolithic cat that stores the oxygen generated when the NOx breaks down, and uses it to oxidize the HC and CO. Maybe someone used the plumbing you have when installing the LT1 in an earlier model with a 2-bed cat. Wouldn't work too well, but maybe that's what someone had in mind.
As far as the EVAP line, it comes off the 3rd line in the fuel line bundle, on 94-95 it attaches to a metal line that routes around the front of the engine under the throttle body, and then a hose to the EVAP purge solenoid. Shoebox has a diagram that indicates it applies to the 93. It appears from the diagram that the u-bend pipe may not be on the 93's, because the fuel lines attach to the rails differently than the newer models.
There should be no other device in between the line in the fuel bundle and the purge solenoid.

Re: relays.... can i test
ok well that is what the line does it enters the fuel line bundle.. im just having so much trouble with what i believe is the emmisions. i got a 26 code on the scanner. a lot of hessitation/ bogging down until motor warms up to normal op temp. i have replaced egr solinod, air pump, the evap( not the canister yet ). getting to the egr valve this week. i really think its bad no pressure when i test it. still probely got a lot to do like isnt there check valves on the exhast. just tring to do all the work myself. still no insight on that part 25 in the diagrams? and where is the evap purge located(?under/in the driver fender well?) the code 26 on the scanner said evap, air pump, egr? any ideas. can i just delete the entire vacumm system/emissions and get everything tuned out without causing harm to the motor... i already have a little money invested in all this stuff but if its the egr i think i can clean it enough to work rather than investing in deletion kits
Re: relays.... can i test
DTC 26 is for the electrical circuits on those 3 systems. In the case of EVAP it's for the solenoid. Nothing to do with the canister. Or it could be a faulty quad driver #1 in the ECM.
Re: relays.... can i test
now that you mention it on another scanner it came up quad driver 2 i think maybe it was 1 but anyways how do i correct the problem. go thru and trace wires looking for a bad one?
