Always premium. 92 or 93. I tried 89 one time just to see how it performed. Needless to say, thats the last time I'll put anything other than premium in my LT1. That was well over a year ago.

None of you guys must live in CA because all I can find around here is 91. The only thing i could do is drive to sears point the local track every time I needed gas and hope that they dont have only 110 plus.

We used to get 92 here in California but now you have to deal with 91 from the the regular gas stations.

I use 92 octane in the warmer months, but then once the high temps of the day stop going above 50F, I switch to 89 octane. These engines don't get spark retard on 89 octane in cool weather (I verified this with Scanmaster)

I bought mine new in 94. Never put anything above 87 in it ever. Never had a problem. Power low? Maybe, I dunno. When gas comes down in price, I should try 93 and see if I notice a difference.

I was told when I got my car never run less than 91 octane due to compression. This guy is an LT1 expert and knows what hes talking abot.

Never put anything lower than 91 octane in my Z. I've found a few places around town that say 92 octane on the pump. But I still need to talk to the manager/owner to find out if it's really 92. Or if they haven't change the lable on the pump.
