Refreshed Heads on 135K motor?

Would Ported and Polished Heads w/ new valves, springs etc. do any harm on a stock 135K miles bottom end. I would leave the cam alone. Maybe add some 1.6 rockers..Let me know what you guys think?
It might be a stupid idea, but thats why im asking the experts

it's not going to hurt anything at all in your shortblock. you might not want to get them ported though, as it will be too much for a stock cam. pocket porting and some polishing of the ports themselves would be ok, but i wouldn't go throwing any LE2 caliber heads on there withthe stock cam. gains would be minimal. around here, the machine shop will do a complete redoing for around 280. thats with pressure checking, milling, cleaning, 3 angle valve job, new valve guides and seals. pretty much everything but the springs themselves. not a bad deal at all

hmm. yea not looking for anything too crazy, just want to restore some of the lost power from the mileage, since most of the power is within the Heads. Down the road im looking into a forged 355 LE1/2 Setup with maybe a 100shot for insurance
As i can see blackztpi, you are doing the same

well, saying that most of the power is in the heads is arguable, but from what i've seen, I've come to a conclusion that most of the pwoer is in the cam, as you see cams being made for stock heads to make 350-36rwhp. but then again, most packages need some of both to make them great. hard to point a finger at a single thing, but i can't say i've ever seen an lt1 gain 100rwhp from heads only, and i have with a cam only. but yeah, u get the point. heads are very important.

well, i actually have a 357 to be technical. lol but i had bret bauer make me a cam for stock heads to make that 350 rwhp. i have a little better than stock heads, ported intake, 52mm tb, and blanced forged rotating assembly so i'm hoping for 380 at the wheels. i think i can make it. but yeah, the motor is setup to take a 200 shot or so. it could probably do 250, but it's still a 2 bolt main with arp studs....little bit stronger, but still a 2 bolt main

I doubt it... but if I had to take my engine apart that much at 135K to do the heads, I'd save my piggy bank up till I could do the complete refurb deal and get the block together while I'm at it.
