Recommended source for a new Optispark?

Even though I've had no bad luck ever with my Optispark, I think I should probably replace my 40K mile unit while the motor's out.

My car's a 94 and the engine is a 93, so I need the older style. GMPartsDirect lists it for $321.41

I also see references to "Get one from Jason" with no mention of who Jason is... so if anyone has an economical source with fast delivery of a reliable opti, please let me know!

go to autozone, #30-1833 that's for a full opti, cap and rotor. It's like $130 LIFETIME WARRANTY

I was actually at autozone earlier today, i believe my opti is going so i figured i would do a price check... Well they dont sell the cap/rotor kit... they only sell them seperate at $119 for the cap and $119 for the rotor. I asked him if their other store a couple miles away had the kit, and they said they didnt sell the kit at all

Another vote for Jason Cromer! Mine is non vented, which are $100 more than the later units. I paid $280 for mine from Jason.

I'd avoid the autozone optis like the f*ckin plague. I was being a tight a&& on my last opti, plus the lifetime warranty sounded good. I had to exchange it four times over a two weekend period. None of which worked, the car would start and idle, but under any load it backfired spit sputtered-- all f*cked up. Finaly on the fourth removal I demanded my money back, paid a little more for a ac/delco and didnt have any problems for almost two years until I got water all over it. Now I am again in need of another opti.

Will do. You know, over the years I washed my motor a few times and soaked the Opti twice. It would barely run for a few days, backfire under -any- load, etc. Never killed the optispark, and its still working today. Lucky, huh!
