Recommended mods for a '95 Z28

Yeah, I just got this a few weeks back, but I'm not sure which Flowmaster exhaust system would give me the best performance and which Headers and H-Pipe to compliment it. Thanks.

First off I wouldnt recommend a Flowmaster exhaust. I had Flowmaster on my car and soon replaced it with a Hooker Catback, which to me sounds and flows much better. There arent alot of fbody owners that Ive talk to that like the Flowmaster. Headers, if you dont have emissions get some long tubes. With a good exhaust and long tubes that would sound plenty loud and mean.

I got my hooker catback shipped to my door for $280 from jegs http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...29&prmenbr=361 and that was the cheapest with shipping I found. You want be disappointed with the Hooker Catback. You can forget the Long Tube headers since you have emissions, so go for some shorties and if thats not loud enough, check your hearing, or get a cutout.

BTW our cars don't have an H pipe like the mustangs do. We have a Y pipe. Yeah your going to have to stick with shorties cause of emissions, get a good high flowing Y pipe with a high flowing Cat., the hooker catback and you'll be very happy. It will sound awesome. If it's not loud enough for you then go for a cutout. $30 bucks and your sounding mean with a nice hp increase. Also another good first start would be a Cold Air Intake. The K&N FIPK or SLP would be great choices, but Morosso, and a couple other brands are out there and are just as good. You'll be please with the seat of the pants increase after that, trust me.

Exhaust and roller rockers are the best first mods to make in my opinion.

If I buy that and just put that on, how much initial horsepower and torque increase could I expect? The Y pipe would go on later.

I think hooker says about 25HP, but thats not at the wheels, I would say between 10-15hp at the wheels. I noticed a big difference in throttle response and some power increase as well. Keep in mind you've got a powerful car now, so 10-15 hp is not going to be felt that much. But definatley worth it and a must mod if you plan on doing more mods.

Cool. I think I'll go with that exhaust. Would you recommend these HEADERS ?

those headers are LONG TUBES also....i have HOOKER LT's on my car and i live in houston and i do have emissions, but i havet gone to take the test yet, and when i do im going to be like loook..gimme a break and throw you this extra 20-30 bucks to pass me man...and if he does, he does, but if he doesnt he doesnt, ill go on to the next place till i find someone...
but yea roller rockers, i actually felt when i put them on, they increase alot like 10-15 to the wheels...
but go with ehxaust, free mods, then CAI, then headers, then after that its what ever! maybe a stall if you have a auto or some gears...
