Guys I need your advice, as I know nothing about engines! I have a 30th annv. Conv. Z28 with 147,000 miles on it. I'm thinking of replacing the engine.

but not sure if it would be better/cheaper to rebuilt or buy it new?

I'm from Modesto ca, and willing to travel up to 100 miles to a good shop. Don't trust just any shop to do this kind of work to my baby!

will you guys please advice me where, and what is the best way to go?
