Re: Rebuild Engine??

Lotta variables here. Were they hard miles with abuse, or easy miles with good maintenance. What type cam and heads are you doing? With good care and regular maintenance these engines can go 200,000 miles plus before rebuilds. So unless you are going to want a engine making 500 + hp, forced induction, nitrous, or reving the engine to 9 grand, your stock bottom end should be fine as long as regular maintenance was done, and there are no problems allready such as a blown head gasket, spun bearing or similar.

PS 9 grand is a

After a head and cam install, you have a 50/50 chance of spinning a rod bearing. Seems like half of the people that swap them out never have a problem. But the other half seem to spin a bearing. I was in the unfortunate half. I didn't get 500 miles on it.
