Rebuild
Stock rebuild? $1200 +/- 300
Depends on how much you do yourself, really. If you just get a shop to do the shortblock and you finish everything else, you will save a considerable amount of money. If you have to hone the cylinders much, you might end up having to bore them out. Then you have to get new pistons.
It also depends on how much you replace and how much you upgrade. In the least you should upgrade the rod, main and head bolts to ARP. Don't use studs, though.
Everyone here will have a different opinion about what is and is not a critical upgrade. To me, fasteners and the oiling system are critical upgrades if you're going to rebuild the motor.
