Rear suspension squeak... I know it's vague, just read inside.

When I am standing next to my car and I push down on the rear I hear a sort of squeak sound. It's only on the left side rear suspension too... I think it is either the sway bar mounting bracket, the sway bar end link, or the panhard rod bushing...

1) if it is the panhard rod bushing, does the stock one have a grease fitting? if so, what color grease do I need???

2) If it is the sway bar what could make it squeak? The end link or the rubber mount are not cracked or damaged at all, is there anything to lubricate?

Anybody with experience please chime in, thanks!!!

It would be easy enough to chase those down. You could disconnect the Panhard bar (probably only one end would be necessary) and see if the squeak went away. Similar with the swaybar. I doubt it would be the endlinks, but the other bushings could all squeak. Another option is your rear springs. For the springs, you can get a small 6" piece of hose and slide it around the lowest section of the spring. As far as greasing the bushings, I'm not exactly sure what you can use to grease rubber, or if you even should. Maybe someone will pitch in...

I greased the panhards passenger side rubber bushing and that fixed that squeakey sound it had every time I went on a speed bump and any bump at all.

Instead of chasing that sound in your case just grease all of the rubber bushings. I used reg rease since I am intending to replace some of them with Poly bushings anyways. I am sure someone here will scream bloody murder for using reg grease on a rubber bushing but hell it wont be there for another 5 years ya know.

The panhard does not have a grease fitting. you will have to remove the bolt... if your car moves a milimiter sideways after you disconect it then it will be a real B.I.T.C.H to put that bolt back in..... Listen to my advise.. do not attempt to turn the bolt to make it go in. it will make things worse. The metal insert inside the panhards bushing will dig a groove on the bolts angled area then you will be stuck. Get your self a large press... like those used for brakes or a carpenters press and press the bolt back in. It took me hours of elbow grease and cursing at hot women passin by who saw me working hard but did not offer to help (thats women for ya ofcourse, ok flame me everybody... I am just kidding ya ) an I still didnt get the bolt back in...until i bought the press at sears (9dollars). then I had that bolt pressed back-in in less than a minute.

I think you should just order a pair of poly swaybar mount bushings, and it comes with silicone grease. I also recommend the poly endlinks. Not expensive, but sure tightens things up!

Also, if you have any trouble pushing the panhard bolts back into the hole because the car shifted a little, have a helper wiggle the car while you push the bolt into the hole
