I've researched this extensively and will probably go with vigilante. I just want to see what everyone is running now or have run and how you like it. No bashing other peoples converters, just let me know what you've got/had. Also, what stall are you running.

If you gots the money, a vigi is what I would go with.
I just could not justify spending that much dough on the converter when I am not that hardcore of a racer. I do more cruising than racing but I do love to race so my TCI fit my budget and accomplished my goals.
Might do some research on the Yanks as well if your gonna spend that kind of money.

I'm not for sure if I'll be out tonight or not. I might be out but without my car. My ties holding my heater hose away from my headers broke yesterday morning, plus I found my exhaust leak. I lost 3 stage 8's, that all had locks on them. Front 3 on passengers side. So I may still be working on it.
I've had a Yank 2800, 3200. Now I've got a TCI 3500, and will be going with a TCI 4000 in the near future. I like the quality and performance of TCI and for a really good price. There customer service is just as good.

I refuse to pay $700+ for a torque converter. I got a Midwest for $455 shipped(2800 stall, 9.5" 2.5 STR, lockup, anti balloon plate etc.).I can't compare the two because I've never had a vigilante, but I can say that I'm very impressed with the Midwest, plus their customer service is great.

I will say my shifts are smoother but it still hits second enough to chirp the tires when you step on it, just cruising around mine shifts pretty tame.
My shifts are not as brutal as they were before the stall but I have a new tranny built by someone who knows what they are doing so it may partly be that as well.
