Rear Main Seal: Lube prior to installation?

I'm reading this how-to from zachz28.8m.com. That says do NOT lube the RMS, however, I've seen other stuff and talked to people who say DO lube it.

Please advise, thanks!

Yes you lube the RMS. Just lube the crank, and the lip of the seal that contacts the crank, not the outside of the seal.

You almost never install a seal dry.

I did not lube mine, but it had a thin film of something on it already.
