rear main seal, how much to fix?
how much is it have a shop replace the rear main seal? its not leaking much but its freakin annoying, everytime i get out of my car there is the smell of burning oil and u can see the smoke from the oil at night, it doesnt leak too much though, maybe onl 2 drops on the ground if it sits all night... it is just really starting to **** me off...
Re: rear main seal, how much to fix?
well, i know that at my shop to install a torque converter, book time is 2.5 hours @ $70/hr. you basiclly have to do the same thing for a rear main seal. except when you drop the tranny, you take off the flywheel, take out your seal, then put the new one in and put it all back together. anyone with the least bit of common sense should be able to do a rear main seal on a RWD vehicle.
