A buddy of mine has a 95 TA M6 with 3.42's and I have a 97 TA A4 with 2.73's. He upgraded to 4.10's and I want to use his 3.42'sin my car, so my question is, is my rear end carrier a series 2 and if so do I have to change to a series 3? Thanks

yes it is a 2 series, and you will have to get a 3 series carrier. Check with SLP for a take off, or e-bay.
