Rear Distributor - Carb Conversion
I am changing my car over to a carb and rear distributor (I think, still deciding) and I have done a search here but have been unable to answer a few of my questions.
First, I would like to see some pictures of how the carb, distributor, and air filter all fit together. I know clearance will be tight, but I have a 3" cowl hood already, so air filter clearance shouldn't be a problem.
Second, I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much I will have to cut the cowl area to get a distributor to drop in place easily? Is it necessary to install the distributor and intake at the same time?
Thanks for the comments on this, and please, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I am a carb guy at heart and I have grown to hate fuel injection.... (I know all its benefits)

I remember hearing you can use a low profile style distributor and it will work under the cowl without cutting. You won't be able to remove it in the car anyway so I'd go that route if you find out something definite.

the distributor doesn't pose the problem....depending on the size of your carbuerator (ie. dominator 1050) i know you'll have to cut the cowl for that to fit, unless you mount it horizontally

Well, I am actually considering a demon or holley 750cfm carb. I am sure I will have to cut the front of the cowl for it, but I was wondering if its necessary to cut the cowl so that the distributor can be removed (actually installed) with the engine in the car.
