Real quick valve cover question

I'm gonna be pulling my valve cover off in the morning to take a look at the roller rockers etc because I have a tapping sound on the driver side. My question is: is there a gasket for the valve covers or is it just a matter of popping the cover off. I dont want to take em off and realize I needed parts I dont have.

There is a rubber gasket on the valve covers. Not sure if its reusable, but I have reused mine twice after taking the covers off.

Rubber as in like RTV? or a pre formed type or rubber? I hope its reusable cause I plan on popping it back on shortly after I check everything out

Take it off tomorrow. Yes its reusable. I have taken off my driver side valve cover literally 35 times, and its still good. Its a preformed long rubber gasket that just sits in there.....it becomes tight enough when you screw it down. Just make sure its set in there properly and you will have no problems. Good luck.
