Ready to order Headers...Part breakdown???

Okay so i just got my insurance check yesterday. I'm ready to order my headers on monday. I'm gonna be ordering the AS&M headers. I was looking for a nice used set but couldn't find any so i'm just gonna have to pay the price. I'm gonna list all the parts that i know i need and whatever i leave out please let me know. Also if you have any suggestions i'm open to them.

- 94-95 style as&m headers(obviously), it comes with the y-pipe.
- S-Pipe
- Stage 8 locking bolts 1 inch
- 2 o2 sims
- o2 extensions(just 2 right?)
- new prebent dipstick tube
- gaskets(i don't know on these, percey's or earl's? i only need the header gaskets right?)
- Taylor ovc kit
- fire sleeves

Also where is a good place to get all of these parts. I was gonna order them from thunderracing.com

i had RKsport headers they are identical except the AS&M has better coating, although the rksport has ceramic coating and mine looked good. rksport headers/ypipe are $590 at tybyrne.com
i did not need o2 extension, although i could have used one on the driver's side (it was a tight stretch, but worked ok) also you dont need a new dipstick, i just bent mine over my knee real carefully, it doesnt have to be alot to fit, it worked fine. i recommend PERCY header gaskets, but either one will be ok, just dont use the one's that come with the headers. also you will need to get a PAIR of 2.5" collector gaskets.

and i noticed you did not mention anything about an off road pipe of cat?
you will need a single style cat or an off road pipe.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a part # for the gaskets? So just one o2 extension should be fine? I guess i will just buy a cat and have it welded to the y-pipe that comes with it. What cat do you recommend?

Any other replies will be helpful, thanks.

IF you haven't replaced your O2 sensors, now is the time to do it (when you put the AS&M's in).

i just got my as&ms after waiting 4 months for them. i ordered through tbyrne because they were having a sale and i picked them up for a decent price. the headers actually come with everything you need but i bought better gaskets and bolts. i went with the percys because after doing a lot of research on here they're the only gaskets that everyone agreed ruled. as for bolts i went with breslin locking bolts instead of stage 8's. http://www.go-breslin.com/Splitlock.html

they're awesome and are of really nice quality. the locking mechanism is way easier then the stage 8s. when i have everything apart im going to get new plugs/wires/o2s. as for the wire shielding i went with the msd sleeve kit and it comes with a lot (as well as much better temp protection then some of the other brands)

delco o2s are the way to go (bosch are hit or miss). as for the gaskets this is what i got http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...94&prmenbr=361

this is the msd sleeve kit

you might get lucky on the headers. because as&m just shipped out a batch. i have a feeling that they wait to get enough orders in before they make a whole run to ship out because not many people get them. but in any case it's worth the wait because they are top notch. most say they are the best non-longtube header. george baxter was running him on his crazy 9 sec car so i don't think they'll be to shabby .

Well i just ordered the headers off tbyrne.com. I ordered the single cat conversion package. Hopefully it comes with everything i need to do the conversion. I'm gonna order the gaskets, bolts, wires, plugs, and new o2's in a few days. I hope it doesn't take 4 months though to get to me. I think i would go crazy if i had to wait that long for my part to come in. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the info everybody.
