Re-using stock heads with rebuild.

Spun a bearing at 69K. Planning on using the same heads on the rebuild.
I was thinking of dissasembling them, takin them to the machine shop to ensure they are flat, and reassembling with the same valves, new springs retainers locks and seals.

Good idea? Anything else I should be concerned or aware of?

Re: Re-using stock heads with rebuild.

You could have them milled a little and use a thinner headgasket for a small bump in compression. You'll probably want to have them milled anyway to have a perfectly flat sealing surface for when you put it back together. Three angle valve job will help out flow a hair. Ever thought about finding someone local to do a basic gasket match and pocket port?

Heads should have a rebuild and valve job.

Hmm, maybe a LE1 job would be the best way to go...
