re-use lifters from blown motor?

Just put together a brand new motor, bearings gone after the 20min cam break in, I think I figured out why. Anyway putting it back together now, can I re-use the brand new lifters I just bought? Visually they look perfect and it looks like the filter caught all the metal. Any cleaning procedure?

After a good cleaning and walking around rolling the bearings for an afternoon(making sure no metal, snags, tight spots are there) they should be OK with a good oiling before install.

you need to have them set upside down in a ultrasonic cleaner.get a cheap one off ebay and do like 4-6 at a time, whatever will fit in there.use parts washer solvent.there probably is metal in the lifters and you dont want that getting into your valvetrain and back down in the pan where it canget back in the bearings.not all the oil goes through the filter.everbody on here knows i love to cut corners, but even i say these must be cleaned well before reuse.im guessing that they look ok and the body isnt all scratched up.

There is only one sure way to clean lifters, they must be disassembled and all internal parts cleaned. just remove the clip, pull the disk, piston, check valve thingy and spring out and soak everything in kerosene then reassemble with fresh oil. This is not hard to do, just time consuming.

You can soak assemble lifters for days in ultra sonic gizmos and still not get the crud out from behind the check valve.
