re-installing stock valve covers after 1.6 install...

Well, we got the 1.6rrs adjusted and all was ready until we tried putting back on the valve covers. They almost seem like the stock rr's are too tall, or they are hitting the rr's in certain places near the holes for the screws used to tighten the valve covers on. Something is definitly hitting, it seems on the driver side it is hitting the Mac header... and on the passenger side it just seems like there isnt enough space under the cover... any advice is helpful, thanks.

When I put my stock covers back on I had to use some vice-grips to flatten the little flanges on the inside of the valve covers. They are in an arch shape just squeeze them with the vice-grips so they are flat and mine fit just fine. It's a little hard to describe in words but when you look at them you'll know what I'm talking about. Hope this helps

Stock valve covers usually require a little clearancing. Do what Naegash did or just dent in the supports to provide more clearance with a hammer. Either way the job should get done.

Yeah, with those Comp Pro Mags, which are widebodies, there isn't much room between them. My buddy had to grind out alot of the supports in the LT4 composite covers (and the supports in those are pretty thin). Naegash's idea should work though.
