rattle sound from fron right valve cover?

ok so well i recently noticed a little rattle coming from the front of my right valve cover (when facing motor from front of car)... it seems to get louder with rpms . i recently had the entire motor rebuilt with mods in my Sig... its like a tick but also sounds like a rattle hard to explain.. could it be one of my rockers backed off or does it sound more like a rod knock?... also fwiw the car has not yet had a tune after the engine rebuild, idk if the bigger cam could cause the noise? i checked the valve covers and nothings rubbing....does the sound im describing sound like it would be a lifter? im just praying its nothing serious because im getting this car running for my brother who is currently in Afghanistan. its scaring the **** outta me! Ive only put about 30 miles on the car and i was not beating on it...i did how ever rev it a couple times but not for a long time or pass like 2200 rpms ( i did hold it at 2k once for about 2 secs but the engine was hot). the rest were just quick blips of the throttle to hear how she sounds. is it common for roller rocker posi locks to back off sometimes on first start? and what would a rod knock sound like? would it be loud and distinct? sorry for all the questions im just seriously paranoid because me and my bro spent alot of money and time trying to get this car running and i know it would seriously upset my brother if something was screwed up because alls he wants is to drive this car.

WOW, Deja-Vu....I am literally having the exact same problem!! rattle/tick above 2200, that sounds like its coming from the right front. Mine is also missing above 2200 while its making the noise..

My advice is to pull the valve cover, and check the rockers for visual damage and to see if the poly-locks are loose, as it can happen...

I got a buddy coming over to look at mine tomorrow, if I come up with anything else, I'll post up.

The first thing you should do is remove the belt. Start it and see if the noise is still there or not. That will eliminate a lot of things.

check the exhaust, turn on the car and have someone bump the gas and see if your exhaust is hitting your trans crossmember.. had the same problem
