Random SES light?

I was driveing around the other day and got a P0153 Oxygen sensor circuit, slow response (pre-converter sensor, right bank). I reset the computer and it hasnt come back. Is it possible for the 02 sensor to stay in one place long enough for the computer to think thats its bad. Thats about the only explanation i can think off. These 02 sensors are about 7000 miles old and are Delphi's i think. I also checked my scanmaster and they were rangeing from below 100 to above 900, like normal.

I would check all the pins on that O2 sensor connector where it plugs into the harness....it may be that one of them is loose enough to cause an intermittent open circuit.

Re: Randon SES light?

The code sets when the transition time from lean to rich or rich to lean is greater than 100mSec. The PCM only tests for transition times when the engine is operating in a specific range of RPM and MAF flow, and it only runs the test once per "trip". An open circuit would set a different code.

See how long it takes to come back. The sensor may be slowing down, but not enough to trip the code every time you dirve it.
