Ran Datamaster NEED HELP!!!
Hey I really need some help here. My blower belt shredded and took out my fan wires, so I ran a datamaster log on the pig and here is what it came back with. Here are the codes I got from it. I also have a datamaster log if that will help the car just sputters and dies.
Codes:
MALF41: EST Open
MALF42: EST Grounded
MALF16: Lo-Res Fail
MALF37: Brake Switch Stuck On (maybe because I deleted abs?)
MALF46: Fuel Enable (VATS) Fail

Re: Ran Datamaster NEED HELP!!!
Sounds like you may have taken out the Opti wire as well. DTC sets when the PCM can't find the low resolution pulse signal from the Opti. It shuts down the fuel pump and injectors when that happens. Also check the wiring to the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil. That would cover DTC 41 and 42.
You will also get a start failure when the VATS (vehicle anti-theft system) doesn't get the right signal from the resistor in the key. Sounds like a possible problem with one of the engine grounds as well (there is one on the front of the engine near the ICM.)

Re: Ran Datamaster NEED HELP!!!
You have a opti code and the vats is turning off your fuel.Turn off the vats in the computer, see if that helps. Did you shread your opti wire? that could account for the low res code.
Hope this helps,
