i already have a K&N filter in the airbox but as much as it is ram air its ram dirt injection to that thing never stays clean and its a big ole pain in the *** to work around and remove. i was just wondering if the switch would loose me power cause i cant have that.

The K&N FIPK won't stay that much cleaner...in my opinion I would just keep the ram air setup because like previously said you WILL NOT feel any difference and I think the ram air setup looks cooler and is less common that a CAI. My ram air setup doesn't seem to be getting any dirtier than my old SLP CAI so maybe you are missing something?

There is really no reason to go to Ram Air other than looks. Personally like the looks and am looking forward to getting my hood today. As far as performance goes, there is only a 1% increase at 100 mph over a cold air with the ram air from what I have heard. But, it is higher off the ground so it isnt as close to the hot asphault, plus you have less of a chance of hydrolock with ram air rather than cold air (not like you can go puddle jumping with ram air there is still the opti). The only other thing is that the air is moving directly into the intake manifold rather than turning corners which possibly could add velocity, but like I said, it was only reported to have a 1% increase in HP at 100 MPH. I personally chose the ram air, but to each his own. It basically boils down to the looks of the car.

If its the third thread about the same question, then there wasnt enough of a definitive answer given to please the asking few.

Hopefully I have answered thier question.
