ram air from stock hood

ram air from stock hood

has anyone here made a ram air hood from a stock 93 trans am hood before? thanks

no, not from the hood but i made ram air at the bottom of the airbox cavity

Do a search, there was a thread on it a while ago.

The final verdict was, it COULD be, but most likely inless you drive through standing water, it wont be a problem.

Im not totally convinced that it would make that much of a difference. Plus I would get made fun of at the garage I work at for it. They are old school car guys who would laugh at me over it. They already think the CAI is funny.

Thats not ram air, just a cold air scoop. good for 0hp.

maybe 0 hp for you guys that dont suck any air. But I picked up 2 psi of boost from adding a scoop just because i was creating a vacuum in the bumper due to the amount of air i was sucking out of it compared to what could get in from outside.

i wasnt looking for horsepower, i just wanted the engine to stay cooler and not suffocate for air when i in traffic. i dont notice any gains except its not chocking for air
