Ram Air hood mod?????!!
Ram Air hood mod?????!!
I have a stock 96 ws6 hood and am wondering if theres some type of kit or directions as to how to make the hood more functional, I remember seeing on Ls1.com that a guy made a kit for the stock ram air hood and was selling it. (i think)
thanks for any help
will just getting more outside air through the hood help keep engine temps down?

There are two rain baffles in the stock WS6 hood, one in front pointing down from the top, and one in back, pointing up. I took about 1/2" off the bottom of the front baffle, and about 1" off the top of the back baffle. The two baffles still overlapped slightly. This was enough to keep rain out.
When the car became "track only" I cut the baffles out completely. This would not work for a street car, because I need to stuff a foam plug in the hood to prevent water from getting in while towing the car in the rain.
The other upgrade for the WS6 is using the Fernco 3" sewer pipe connector in place of the corrugated stock bellows between the MAF sensor and the TB.
