ram air hood?

I am going to pick up a used ram air hood on thursday, it was functional on the car I am buying it from, but I have the SLP CAI, so if I dont block of the grills, what kind of problems, effects will happen? will it cause the front end to 'float' from air being forced into the engine compartment.. or will it help cool off engine... ? anyone know?

Don't bother changing out the cold air intake if you do and go to the SS setup you will lose HP. The functional SS will help cool the engine bay, the only problem I can see with this setup is if you happen to drive through a really, really heavy rain storm and get excessive amounts of water in the engine bay. And what do you mean, “will it cause the front end to 'float' from air being forced into the engine”. Lift the whole car or rip the hood off? You would have to be like going a million miles an hour for either of those to happen.

no, I am not going with a ram air box, I am keeping the slp cai, I mean front end float like too much air or different air pressure, if you've ever driven a 61-65 corvair.. similar to that at high speeds.

i think he meant ram air like ws6 hood, personally i would block it off because ive seen one with a ram air hood with the grills open and not used, and the engine bay was dirty as hell. youll get bugs and crap in there. block them off

I just left my hood open. I don't drive it in the rain or that often. I haven't seen my engine dirty from it. On the plus side it colds down the engine bay.

If every thing these guys are saying was true then how the heck would I be able to use this hood on my car, I have and Ram Air air box, but still think about it. If rain was coming in it would be going into my motor. They have rain baffles in the hood so no worries there. As for to much air and it ripping the hood off, it would be the same with or with out the air box. Just keep you CAI and leave the grills open. It will help cool the motor, nothing else.
