Watch out for traffic court. I somehow managed to get 4 tickets for speeding when I wasn't speeding at all (I know that sounds funny, but seriously, I was NOT even going over the speed limit, and I had my data logger going in the car at the times to prove it!). Even with no evidence from the police officer (no radar evidence produced) and my data logging info plus a witness who was in the car one time, I still managed to be convicted on each one. I'm now in the process of suing the district attorney's office, the police officers in question, and just about everything else attached to these BS cases. I doubt it will end up going very far now and they will end up settling to prevent any loss of face, but you really need to watch out for traffic court. The judge will NOT listen to anything you have to say and will side with the police officer because, and I quote, "He is more credible." Well, aside from the fact that he is lying straight to your face, sure.

Anyways, just to let know know this is Illinois, maybe Texas is different. Although with those racing ticket laws, probably not.

Yeah if the cops think your accelerating to fast they will give you a ticket for it. My friend almost got a ticket for that. It was pretty funny to because the cop said that he heard him burning his tires up and thats how he knew. But my friend was driving his AWD Talon. It can chirp the tires but it won't spin them. It was funny to hear the cops response to that one. "Oh well maybe it was another car then but i thought it was you" The cop let him go after that.

if he does try and say that he used radar ask him to pull out the papers saying that it was dialed in that morning. take it to court and maybe youll get lucky like my friend and the cop wont even show

Court is a great tool, if they give you the option take it! and if they wont cut you a deal, ask for a jury trial, most of the time they wont want to deal with it just over a traffic violation like that.. also, read into the local law that the cited you for, if they dont have everything to the T on the ticket that the law states you get out on a technicality. Gotta love court! .. its saved my *** 3 tickets now.. good luck!

Hey Jason93z. Like I said earlier.....trust me one this one. There's only one reason I would say that. think about it. The only the detector could pick it up is if the little laser beam hit the detector which it usually never does. Plus they can work from a 1000 feet away. The detector doesn't . By the time you pick it up if you can...its too late. The only one that actually works is the laser jammer. The problem with that one is it take 30 seconds to reset. The laser take 3.

Yes....Newbiewar is right. That's exactly what its called. I dunnon what they use there. But racing and exhibition of speed is 2 different things. Racings is a huge fine and possible suspension. That's why I said to take it to court. At worst the Prosecutors will give ya a break. Just tell them you wasn't doing it. Make sure your friend is there with you and see if they offer you a deal.

Trust me.....dunno about your brothers..sisters....cousins....nephew is a cop. I think I got um on this one.

Cool, sweet to know a few more local (or once local) guys! Yeah, these were actually from when I used to live in Pekin, not up here in Peoria. I NEVER have been pulled over in Peoria once. Then again, I am rarely ever going over the speed limit, so I can see why. Yet, in Pekin, I somehow managed to be pulled over for 4 BS speeding charges and given tickets, and that doesn't include the 30 times or so that I've been pulled over in the middle of the night for "swerving like you were drunk." Funny, those were the nights I was usually going to work (I work 3rd shift) and hadn't had a drink in like 3 or 4 days! Always seems to happen in Pekin for no appearant reason. Cops are just looking to get money out of you. And they aren't going to get ANY out of me. But if they insist on continuing with this, some harassment and illegal procesecution suits for tens of thousands of dollars each might teach them a lesson.

Well, to say the least a V1 will work up to near 2 miles, and if I haven't said it enough, I Would have known if I was tagged; he definitly would have said something about it on the ticket.

Cool. I'm always lurking around here, usually in the computer forum offering tuning advice!

That's the thing dude. You didn't get tagged for speeding. You got tagged for RACING. 2 way different things. You don't need to be clocked for racing or exhibition of speed.

I once got a ticket for drag racing, speeding, crossing the double yellow, reckless driving, etc..basically I was passing my friends mustang doing 85 mph in a 45 zone in a no passing lane. Yes, it was dumb, but I did it. I took it to a lawyer and $300ish later, the ticket was reduced to "driving w/o posession of drivers lisence". No points. Nothing. I've gotten out of 3 tickets by taking them to lawyers (actually I'm still on the 6 month deferral program )...Needless to say, I drive a little more carefully now
