Racetronix Q...
Hey,
Just finished the beginning of the pump install, I'm letting the glue sit right now overnight I called it quits for tonight. My question is, I gooped the pump with all that silicon grease stuff, and my bucket had them ribs in it. So I busted out the dremel and ground 'em down all the way, but the pump still appeared to sit the same. It slides down, but doesn't really "click" I guess like the instructions say. It aint going anywhere, and with the bucket glued I'm not sure how it could anyway. How will I know when I test it all out if I did it wrong? I'm surprised with how easy the trap door method is...

Re: Racetronix Q...
Well, finished the install, fired it up, still has trouble starting, but not NEARLY as much. Considering my plugs, wires, and fuel pump were all original 116k mile parts (well maybe not plugs and wires, but they're new anyhow), am I correct in thinking that it just could possibly be that my starting problems lie elsewhere? The fuel pump was my first choice because others seemed to have had this problem. What would you suggest looking at next? Starter?

Re: Racetronix Q...
Elaborate, I think I understand what you're asking. And the answer is yes, I used the old "push-lock" fitting with the new flex tube. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question...

Re: Racetronix Q...
Yeah, that was what I was asking. I was asking that because that was the mistake I made when installing my racetronix pump. Alot of people have made my mistake causing the same simptoms that you have discribed. You can take your fuel rail up and see if any of your injectors are leaking I have heard that an injector leak causes hard starting. Good luck man
oh yeah also check the filter.

Re: Racetronix Q...
Did you check the fuel pressure and isolate it down to your fuel pump or just replaced it? Hold on...this artical's going to save you a lot of money: http://mainstreamtopics.com/forum/in...p?showtopic=78.
Actually I just check it and it appears there remoduling the site or something so it's temporarly down but try back.
