Racetronix issue
Racetronix issue
Since my pump kit had no instructions, I just did what looked right and went from there. Pump works, but my fuel gauge doesn't. I butchered the purple wire connector a bit (on the part that connects to the float resistor assembly, whatever that's called) but it's making GOOD contact with the connector there. My fuel gauge doesnt work. Opened it up three times to be sure everything's contacting like it should. Sick of undoing the clips on the lines, anyone any ideas? This is frustrating
Re: Racetronix issue
My gauge is screwed up too (not like it wasn't screwed up from the factory already, but oh well). This is thanks to my new puppy (at the time) that thinks the world is his chew toy. He damaged my floater thing, I think he bent it or something. So I need to pully it out and replace the whole thing.
You say yours doesn't work at all thought I would go back and replace that purple wire, then check to see if you have power going to the fuel gauge, and take it from there. Email the racetronix guy too he respones very quickly to emails. hth

Re: Racetronix issue
PRoblem solved and possibly a helper for people that do this
-- When you put the pump back in, make sure the floater is UP AGAINST THE BUCKET.
It it isnt, it will hang on the tank, and peg your gauge full. This I found out after FOUR attempts of messing with the wire (clamping and unclamping those POS clips each time)

Re: Racetronix issue
What was it hanging up on?
Do you mean down against the bucket? I was very careful with mine. I had heard if you moved the arm around it would damage it so I didn't.
My fuel gauge is peg'd on full.
I bought a new sending unit from Jason Cromer
I'm getting ready to pull it back out when I put in my 12 bolt. I'm curious if mine is really bad.
