Racenet Heads-anyone use em?
I dont know what the stage one heads from combination motorsports are supposed to flow but racenet claimed that theirs flowed 270/210 (stage 2). The stage 2 from cm is prolly a lot bigger/better than that but it's also an extra 650-thats a TC. I dont want to buy crap but i dont want to pay more than i have to either. I'll call up CM tomorrow and see what those stage 1's flow. If they flow the same, I'll prolly just go with them. Otherwise I might go for the racenet's... Anyone know what they claim to flow???
One thing I love: called up racenet asking about a supercharger and they said "You WILL have to rebuild your bottom end." I love that. As if just bolting on a supercharger is gonna destroy the engine instantly. I know it's not exactly good but lots of ppl run much higher than 4.5-6 psi and get a lot of life out of them. Granted I have 80k miles and it's a daily driver-rarely taken a WOT- but i still think i would be ok charging for a couple years (only put on at most 100 miles/week).
Thanks yo.

Just ask them what would be the most efficient setup that goes with you cam and the rest of your performance parts. Some people claim that cfm's aren't exactly better bigger...it's what goes best with the whole outfit.
My heads are a Combination Motorsports Stage 2 LT4's. I don't have the flow sheet in front of me, but they were in the low 300's. It's actually kind of funny though, getting flow numbers from them is almost like pulling teeth. Let's see if I can remember exactly how Seth put it....
"Flow number's? Well, let's just that we've flowed "the best" heads on the same bench, back to back with our heads, and ours laid the smack down on them. Agostino, GTP, MTI...bring them on. Horsepower and 1/4 mile times are what count, go and tell your buddy that your 13 second car's heads flow 400cfm and see how impressed he his. If you're not satisfied with our heads, send them back."
I was cracking up, that guy kills me. But, you see who's heads I ended up with. He went on to explain that they don't want to get caught up in the "flow bench war" that's been going on lately, with all these companies claiming huge flow numbers out of their heads.
They have a satisfaction guarantee thing, where they will let you return the heads if you are not happy with them. Ask Racenet what their return policy is on heads. LOL!!!

Stay the **** away from racenet, they are a bunch of crooks. Carlos rodriguez or whatever his name is... *****. Why isn't their company gone yet? Not only did they **** me around, everybody who I know that has done business with them got dicked around.
You want some good heads. Try combination motorsports. Or try Phil AKA skarodom at www.advancedinduction.com, he has some very nice heads, and very nice dyno numbers.

Are we talking about the old Internet racers supply? I know their website is www.racenet.net so is this who you all are referring to? Just curious cause I havent had any bad dealings with them as of yet, but I really havent ordered anything from them since they changed over to the racenet name. Also I had a set of stage 2 heads from IRS and they are the ones that were on my car with the times in the sig. They really were a nice set of heads and didnt flow too aweful bad either

Flow numbers really are not the best way to determine a good port job. I agree, velcoity and port volume make a big difference also. My friend had his LT1 heads ported locally. It only flowed @ 28 inches .500 260 cfm.. But that was with 185cc's He dynoed 25RWHP more than a very similiar setup at the dyno that week. Almost identical setup as the other guy, but the heads were ported by two different people..Other guy had higher flow numbers, but it did not help him make more h.p.
I had good dealings with Racenet.net IRS. But liek mentioned earlier , it seems some people didn't
The guy who is doing my $10K BBC head for the Engine Masters contest used to work for the head porter who does Combo's Stuff. He said " No wonder their stuff is so good." So they are not bad either. Lloyd does know his stuff too. One thing that' important is getting the heads all the air that they are ported for. I'm working on a LT1 and a Single plane intake right now for ported LT1 heads. That is all a big part of the combo too.
Don't forget about Excessive Motorsports. I ordered some stuff from them and over a month later I find out they backordered something. Common courtesy would have been to tell me when I ordered it...not let me bitch and complain and then find out. Alot of people had problems with them.

The combination motorsports heads sound better and about the same price. I was looking at the ls1 stage one heads accidentally. The lt1 stage 2 heads are only $45 more and another $150 if i want a port matched intake. So i'll prolly order them on Monday. They said that it would be about 3 wks for me to get them which sux but is not THAT long. I guess I could do a TC or rear suspension in that time pretty easily.
