mustang had intake, exhaust, gears, and stage 4 comp .500 lift cams. My mods are in sig running stock tune. I got about a car on him out of the hole, he misses 2nd gear and still beats me by about 3 cars. I think im running on 7cyl. or one cyl isnt hitting all the way. Anyway, next paycheck im going to dallas for dyno tune, I dont like losing to stangs.
Also, the stang is running 20s or 22s, tiny low profile tires and didnt spin bad at all. those 3 valvers have some top end now. hes prolly trappin close to 115 in the 1/4

Dang. Get that thing tuned and find your miss and go for a rematch.
I tried playing with a stock 06 stang a few days ago but I think all the gauges on the pillar and the loud exhaust scared him away.
I would have liked to see where I stood though.

i think cams are definitely good for power on em.. but they cost a whole **** ton.. you could do heads and a cam on an lt1 for the same price as them doing just cams (dohc ftl)..
still, sounds like you need a tune real bad.. idk how you could do a h/c 355 on a stock tune

You didn't mention a tune, so how could unhooking the battery "reflash" your PCM? BTW, if your PCM was tuned, then unhooking the battery does NOT relflash the PCM. Make sure you are running on all 8 and get it tuned if it is not already tuned. JMHO
FYI: GT stangs are all SOHC since 96. The DOHC means two cams per head or 4 cams total, that was on the Cobras and Mach1. GTs have 2 cams, one per head but still are called a Single Over Head Cam.
Hitech cams have been known to gain 60 hp on bolt-on 99-04 GTs so cams are deffinently worth the price, as those mentioned can be run on stock valvetrain components. As for price I would agree they are a bit expensive compared to pushrods. Although I can get used cams for right on about 350 now for a set.
As for your mods that should put you in mid 12s. The 3v could easily be lower than that as us Mustang guys run much steaper gears usually. The 3v' come stock with 3.55s. The 3v has been Fords LS1 if you like as it responds very well to mods, as even a CAI can net 20rwhp.

car did have a tune on it. The car is coverted to obdI, anyways having the battery out did something to the tune, if its cool out, the car will try to die when first cranked usual for a big cam, but that never happened before I unhooked the battery. But Idle speed is the same, and rev limmit is the same. I also notice now that when I unplug the maf while the car is running it has no effect, before it would make the car rev up to about 1200, then fall back to 1000 and cam different than pluged in.
The mustang got beat by an auto ls1 with stock stall, intake, all free mods, headers, exhaust, ls6 intake, by 1 car from a roll.
So im thinkin the stang is good for 12.90s
