R&R Fuel Injectors

When you are reinstalling the same injectors that you took out... you had them cleaned, tested, and flowed... does it matter which cylinder you put them back in? Does it matter, ever?

Do you have to connect the wires in a certain order?

I lost one of the clips for the wires...

Do I need that? Can I just use electric tape? Think a dealer would sell them? haha

As long as try all tested even you'll be o.k. The plugs are #. I lost a clip it runs fine but I got a new one. Tape will look wrong.

Re: R&R Fuel Injectors

It goes... 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6,8 right?

Odds on Passenger side and evens on driver side?

Plugs and numbered, but what about the wires?

I got it off of e-bay. Some place in Miami. I can't remember the name. I'll try to look for it. Odds on the driver side. Even on the pass. The wires should be color coded.

Drivers side, front to back is #1/3/5/7. Passenger side, front to back is #2/4/6/8. There is a number on each of the harness connectors, corresponding to the cylinder it supplies.

You can see the "6" and the "8" on the harness clips in this photo, for example.....

Re: R&R Fuel Injectors

I put on backwards then... crap. Think that will matter? The injectors themselves I mean... not the wiring.

Re: R&R Fuel Injectors

The injectors do NOT need to be returned to the exact same cylinder they were removed from. They are not cylinder specific. If you are lucky, after cleaning, they will all flow idnetically. Even if there was a wide tolerance on the match, I'm not sure that would be a basis for trying to return a specific injector to a specific location.

The harness clips need to be attached to the correct cylinder injector though. Harness clip number matches cylinder number... no numbers on the injectors themselves.

You are overly concerned about a non-problem.

What he said ^^^

Injector harnesses are labeled and the injectors themselves can go in any spot.
