Re: Quietest Cat-Back Exhaust

Not going to vote, cuz im not really sure...

...but i will give you my experience.

slp TOTL is the best flowing 3'' exhaust hands down. my car came with it originally, i was yopung and put a flowmaster on it....very very loud...switched to a dynomax free flow design..and gained 11hp on the dyno. but the sound with the dyno max was crappy.

I then switched back to the SLP TOTL. picked up another 7hp on the dyno. that means the Hp difference between a flowmaster 40 series and a TOTL is ~18hp!
SLP TOTL is very nice deep sound at idle and cruise out side the car. not very noticable. inside it is very quiet with no drown. Its a striaght through design with no resriction. at WOT is is screems though.

Not with a modded car, like yours and mine now...it still tame but, louder...

I think its perfect btw...just wish it was dual

JustNO,
I'd just run the Borla you have with the full closed plate and add a bullet muffler to your system. Generally, the more muffler volume (larger) your exhaust has, the quieter it will be.

There is no way in hell that a stock car, with intake and catback is going to run a low 13, tires or no.

I understand that your car runs on bullsh**. Now produce the timeslip, rice boy. I want to see the proof.

Re: Quietest Cat-Back Exhaust

The SLP dual/dual is dead quiet. SLP 2OTL is nowhere near quiet but it sounds great on my car. It is actually quieter than Corsa and Borla but not Borla closed plate.

Considerably. Im talking about the SLP 2OTL you get aftermarket... not the one that came an SS with the silencing cone in it.

Re: Quietest Cat-Back Exhaust

My hooker catback with an 18" bullet in the i-pipe is pretty quiet, unless I'm on it. Even then its still decently quiet, nothing obnoxious.

It was on BFG KDWS tires for the record. Auto w/ stock stall.

Re: Quietest Cat-Back Exhaust

Its a believable time slip, Jon94Z on heres Z28 ran 13.5@101 with a Borla and a MTI cold air, also had some misc free mods. Cars an auto, stock stall, 2.0 sixty foot. Patman got 13.7 out of a bone stock 95 Formula.

Any way I want quietest cat-back exhaust. My current setup is 383cid 210cc AFR heads (expect 500 crank hp) so I don't want to lose lots of HP after cat-back changed.
BTW: I searched, but found just a few topics about this subject. I added POLL. I didn't add GMMG Cat-Back, because its same loud as Borla.

did you try the restricter plates that come with it?

I tried 3 of 4 plates. I just didn't put on fully closed one. I didn't because if I do that smoke will come out only left pipes. Do you see what I mean?

I'd try the closed one, its not that big of a deal. Unless your car is huffing smoke it won't be noticable unless its winter time. You could always get an EBorla plate. I had one and i'd just leave it in the closed position 99% of the time. When i wanted to be loud you just flip the switch. I guess if you were worried about smoke you could just crack it a little bit and might get some smoke to come out the pipe. Back when i had my Borla putting it in the closed position made a huge difference and sounded pretty good. I'd suggest at least trying the closed plate and see what you think.
