Quick TDC/Valve lash question...

We are buttoning up the heads/cam package on my little brother's 95 Formula. We have the front of the motor back together (water pump, opti, timing cover, hub and harmonic balancer). When we put everything back together, the cam dot was at 6 oclock and the crank dot was at 12 oclock. THerefore we should be at #6 TDC, correct? Here is one of my questions:

Does it matter that when we put the opti on the Cam dowel, that the cam dowel was at 3 oclock? I know for sure that the special slot in the opti went over the cam dowel, but now I am nervous that the cam dowel was supposed to have been at 9 oclock. Do we have anything to worry about?

Also, This might be a real stupid question, but how do we get back to #1 TDC? Do you just make one full revolution (1 turn) of the crank?

Thanks guys.

As long as you put the opti in correctly, it does not matter if you put it in when the cam dowel is at 3:00 (#6 TDC) or when the cam dowel is at 9:00 (#1 TDC).

Correct on the 1 full revolution on the crank. Both dots will be at 12:00 (#1 TDC).
