quick ses question
quick ses question
I have 160 thermo. and have an ses light, so the fans are on constantly, and the car never gets over 170. Even when stopped. Is this preventing me from running in open loop? where my sensors pickup, and register to determine air/fuel, etc?
The enable coolant temp for entering closed loop seems to be a variable value, within the range of 120-140degF, so you don't have a problem in that respect.
But why continue to drive with an SES light?

Are you sure? Which EGR code are you getting? If its for the solenoid, all you need is a resistor. There's also a spoof if its for "low EGR flow". Wy not eliminate the codes and let the fans run the way they are supposed to?
I just recently had all the mods in my sig put on,except cai, and exhaust, and had the air, egr blocked off. I had new opti, fuel pump, wp, plugs, etc, and had my installer tune it a little. His name was mike harris( fastest naturally aspirated lt1 b body impala) and he told me I need to get a mail order tune, and the code should be from the egr. So Im guessing its that, b/c car runs amazing. Ill still get it scanned to make sure before I get it tuned
