Quick Roller Rocker question!

i just bought jegs aluminium roller rockers with a 1.5 ratio ,self aligning, will these fit under the stock valve covers and when i put one on there i spun it on by hand till it tightend up about 3 or 4 turns is that okay, even with the extra half turn i will get out of preload? they have locking bolt in the middle of the nut.

Why not 1.6s? Anyway you might want to visit Sh.box.com----for the options on how to adjust your rockers.JMHO

I don't quite understand the question---are you asking how to adjust the rockers? You lock the the nut on when you are satisfied with your adjustment. A pretty std adjustment is about 1/2 turn +- past 0.

Questions lol

1. Will they fit under my stock valve covers?
2. They only go on 3 or 4 turns is that far enough on the stud?

Answer to #1, yes they will fit under the stock valve covers.
Answer to #2, That definatly does not seem right if they only go on 3 or 4 turns.

And I am curious as to why you got 1.5's instead of 1.6's. Answer to that?

call them back and yell. Hotcam's are intended for use with 1.6RR.

Yes, you need the 1.6 RRs for the Hot Cam. They gave you bad advice on the 1.5s. In the future you need to get your advice here on the forum where the "real" LTx experts hang out!

What valve springs are you runing?

since i have the gm hotcam from summit with only .492 lift instead of the hotcam kit, would 1.5 ratio rockers still be fine? and my springs... well heres the story we bought the car with a spun bearing and its almost ready to be running again and so we had the heads done and i thought about if the springs would be okay with the cam so we had the guy at our machine shop check them out and he said they had 318 lbs and the stock ones should be 2 something and he said the cam wanted 324's or something close to that i dont remember but he said they would be fine.

1.5RR's will work with the hotcam but you will be leaving some HP on the table.

There is only one LT1 hot cam. The cam has a lobe lift of .328, with a 1.5 rocker that becaomes .492 at the valve (.328X1.5), with a 1.6 rocker it its .525 at the valve(.328X1.6).

As pointed-out above, the 1.6 RRs will give you about .030" additional lift over the 1.5s and a possible 15-20 HP gain.
