Don't forget thread locker and gasket RTV. I like the Ultra Copper or Black.

Will stock heads with those springs take that much lift? Just thought I would ask since my seats were machined down to accommodate higher lift (that I am not using).

I was wondering the same thing, I will probably get some 1.5pro comps, with the 503 cam

I have seen an install on the web - I'll try to post the link - where the beehive retainers were not compatible with the Crane SA rockers.

Is this indeed the case?

I am very interested in this as I am thinking of a similiar install and I have a set of GMPP SA rockers- same as yours

That isn't a lot of lift at all. Duration has more effect, as I understand it, on PTVC anyway. You will be fine with 1.6 RR.

The 224/230 is my choice. Bigger is not always better.

I took it as a question about retainer to seal clearance, I don't know the answer though.

To get installed height with beehives you pretty much need longer valves or retainers/locks to raise the installed height. The later will cause SA rocker issues because it raises the retainer higher on the valve leaving less tip sticking out for the SA portion of the rocker to guide against.

I think this becomes the issue. Take a look at the link I attached above.

Can anyone else step in who has experience with the beehive type spring and SA rockers.......
