Quick question on water pump and opti install...

Hey all, I have my meziere ewp and new opti and I'm gonna have a shop install them tomorrow because I have absolutely no time to work on it myself. Would anyone have a rough estimate on what this would cost me? Thanks in advance.

Its gonna be pretty salty. I know I was quoted about $350 just to have my timing cover gasket replaced, and its gonna be about the same as far as what needs to be removed in order to get the opti off. Plan on spending at least that much. Maybe you'll get lucky and they will give you a better deal.

It's been a long time since I've had someone else work on my car but damn, that's pretty steep. I sure hope that's not what it's gonna run me...

The only thing extra that they had to take off to do my timing chain gasket was of course, just the timing cover. Everything else envolved between the 2 is exactly the same. I am sure my price included the timing cover set also but since they are doing your water pump also, its gonna prolly offset each other. But like I said, maybe they were just trying to jack me around on the price. Hopefully you will get a better deal.

Excluding parts costs, labor is gonna run me $232. Still steep, but it's not that bad I guess.

Don't forget they had to loosen the oilpan and potentially lift the engine slightly for bolt access, all of which isn't necessary for a wp and opti r/r.
