Quick Question

Im trying to figure out why my car is running up to par. Today i looked at the exhaust. I have LT's and the exhaust runs straight back from each header then dumps infront of the rear tire on both sides. The driver side exhaust barely moves at idle. THe passenger side exhaust however jumps like crazy and pops at idle. Is this because of a possibly burnt wire? or bad spark plug? on the passenger side or what else could it be.

Thanks!

Re: Quick Question

Are you saying you that your car is running good, but you have a pop coming from the exhast only on one side?

If this is the case it could just be an exhaust leak sucking in fresh air and burning the unused fuel in the pipes. If your saying that that your car is not running right, then yes, the first thing I would look at is a burnt plug wire. When you have headers or have even just changed the wires on these cars the first thing I look for when it misses or runs even slightly different is look at the plug wires. Pretty much every time it happens to me it was a plug wire burnt or routed to the wrong plug. (That's why you don't let others mess with your car!)

Re: Quick Question

The car stumbles around 3k rpm and I'm trying to figure out why. The passenger side exhaust shakes and when its hot, so I was wondering if its possibly a burnt wire.

Re: Quick Question

That explains a lot more. I would definitely look at the wires. Even if they are not touching the exhaust they can still burn. Just takes longer.
