Quick Question

How long would it take a competent mechanic to replace a header gasket?

Re: Quick Question

on yor long tubes, they will try to charge you more, since it is not stock! But it shouldn't ever take more then an hour of labor unless you have EGR and AIR still connected then maybe 1.5, but that might vary from shop to shop. If you knew what you were doing you could probably do it yourself in less time because a good portion of the shop time will be them letting it cool down.

Re: Quick Question

yea they will probably charge you more considering it isnt stock, when in fact they will be able to change it close to 2X as fast as if you still had manifolds. they really arent that hard to change, if possible, you should just do it yourself

Re: Quick Question

I'm taking it to a performance mod shop, but it's more of an import place. They only charge $50 an hour. I actually wanted to do it myself... but my friend talked me out of it. Oh well, I'll see if I can watch and learn something. Thanks for the replies!

Re: Quick Question

Too late hehe. Done, and only cost me $117. So I'm happy about it, even though I know some of you will find that $117 wasted... Oh well, next time I need to replace those gaskets I'll try it myself.
