opti install, any special way the spindle needs to be aligned...or anything specially aligned for that matter??

 

if its a 93 or 94 if you look at it you will see it has a flat part. it will pop into the opti and the cam. i think its easier to have put it in the cam first, then put the opti on that. and make sure it sits flush! if not, you will be doing this again.
if you have a 95+ sorry, i personally have no experience on them

 

its a 95, and the opti is all one part assembled.

 

does it have the spline drive, or is it vented?

The opti has three rectangle slots. One of the slots has a different marking on it, towards the outside edge of the slot. That is the slot the dowel of the cam must fit into. Once the dowel is in that slot, the opti will allow you to rotate until the bolt holes line up. I hope that made sense.

The opti can only go on one way. If you look on the backside you will see that one of the holes is a little larger then the others, this is the one you slide the dowel pin into. I marked the spindel so i knew where that hole was, makes it easier while sliding the opti on to line it up with the dowel pin. When you get it right you will know as the opti mounting tabs will sit flush with their mating surfaces.

 

ok...so make sure i got this right...dowl pin goes in the hole on the opti with the extra marking?

 

i know the opti only goes in one way, im talking about the ting that spins in the middle on the back

 

Yup, just give it a little push, as long as you have the dowel pin aligned with the right hole it will slide in.
